The team at Milford & Dormor Financial Planning offer award-winning, independent advice on the following areas:

Discretionary Fund Management (DFM)

We understand no two clients will share the same objectives. That’s why we manage six risk-graded portfolios to meet different goals. By ‘discretionary management’, we mean that, once we’ve agreed a client’s investment intentions, we will manage investment decisions and the monitoring of portfolios on their behalf.

Advisory Investment Service (AIS)

We provide a bespoke advisory service for clients with more specific requirements. An advisory basis means we make investment recommendations for your consideration and approval, before we implement.

Strategic Asset Allocation

We believe that asset allocation is the primary driver of investment returns. Accordingly, we look to combine bonds, equities and alternatives comprised of UK authorised funds in each of our portfolios to maximise returns for given levels of risk.

Our portfolios have the following strategic asset allocation:

Portfolio Cash/Bonds % Equities % Alternatives (e.g. Property/ Infrastructure) %
Cautious 50-85 10-40 5-20
Income 25-65 25-65 5-20
Ethical 25-65 25-65 5-20
Balanced 25-65 25-65 5-20
Growth 5-25 60-90 5-20
World Growth 0 90-100 0-10

Tactical Positioning

Hand in hand with strategic asset allocation is our tactical view of the market. This means we adjust weightings in each asset class according to market fluctuations and dynamics – most typically, with a year’s investment management in mind.

When it comes to fund selection, we carry out comprehensive research and due diligence covering every aspect – including performance, risk and costs. We favour managed funds to maximise performance but, when appropriate, will include index funds in our portfolios.

Current Positioning
